HESCO adopts Prime Minister's austerity and fuel conservation

Hyderabad Electric supply company adopts Prime Minister's initiative regarding austerity and fuel conservation after Iran and USA-Israel war. In continuation of this Office Order No. CEO/HESCO/M(Admn)/PA/1765-90 dated 11-03-2026 issued pursuant to Cabinet Secretariat, Government of Pakistan Notification dated 09th March 2026 conveyed vide Ministry of Energy (Power Division) letter No. 10(146)/2022-ADMN dated 10th March 2026 regarding austerity and fuel conservation measures, the following further directions are hereby issued for strict implementation in HESCO in letter and spirit forthwith:
Working Days / Routine
1. The four-day workweek shall be observed as follows, with exception noted at point No. ii and subject to point No. iii:
Working Days:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Off Days:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday
ii. Field Formation Employees related to Essential Services viz a viz Maintenance, Restoration of Electricity Supply, Rectification of Consumer Complaints, Recovery of Arrears of Electricity Bills, Meter Reading, Bill Distribution, M&T, S&I & Grid System Operation as well as Construction Works under PD Construction & GSC Directorates shall remain on duty as per previous routine/ schedule.
iii. All support employees of the above Field Formations and rest of offices including HESCO HQ shall remain available on Mobile / WhatsApp during Off Days and may be required to attend office in case of any exigency.
Voluntary Forgo of Two Days Salary
HESCO Officers in BPS-20 and above (or equivalent) or those drawing monthly salary of PKR 300,000/- or more, irrespective of Pay Scale, may voluntarily forgo two days salary.
This issues with the approval of the Chief Executive Officer HESCO.
